FAQs

Here are the initial questions our clients often ask.

What work don’t you do?
It is always best to make contact with us to discuss your business or project to enable us to advise you as to whether or not we can help and how we would propose doing so. We usually can help but it will cost you nothing to find out.

We don’t simply present sets of standard clauses or letters. Everything we do is specifically tailored to the individual requirements of each client.

Do you use other experts if needed?
Yes. There are times when it is necessary and sensible to enlist the services of someone who has a particular individual expertise suited to the issues involved. However, clients will always be advised in advance as to why it is considered that such expertise is to be recommended. They can then make an informed decision as to whether or not they wish to sanction it.

Can I get an initial consultation for free?
We think that it is usually possible to make a preliminary assessment of what needs to be done within a relatively short time – usually no more than 15 minutes. For that, we make no charge.

We will be in a position to explain what, after that, our likely charges will be to undertake the particular work in question. You can then decide whether or not you wish to proceed further before you will have incurred any cost.

Do you work anywhere?
Yes we do. The way in which we work actually enables us to be located anywhere in the world so long as we have internet access from time to time.

How do you charge fees?
In keeping with other professionals, we charge an hourly rate plus any disbursements incurred on your behalf (after agreeing the incurring of any disbursements with you).

There may be instances where it is possible to give a specific quotation for the entire project.

Without exception, you will be provided with a letter of engagement which will make clear the nature of the work to be undertaken and the relevant fee structure. This must be agreed by you before we will be able to proceed.

Do you have professional indemnity insurance?
Yes. We think it is important for your peace of mind to be assured that professional indemnity insurance is in place.
