How we Work
What can work best for everyone concerned is the internet (although we also work conventionally when needed).
We are able to work extremely effectively and efficiently through the predominant use of email and attachments. In this way, we get to fully focus on the job in hand and then publish it to the client who in turn can take their time in carefully considering what has been drafted or presented.
 At times though it is much more appropriate, particularly when taking initial instructions, to discuss the matter over the phone. Detailed instructions can be taken surprisingly quickly when compared to conventional means. We use headsets and type up detailed notes as quickly as the spoken word.
We publish our mobile phone numbers for initial contact but are happy to return calls on a land-line, frequently by appointment when we know we’ll be back at base. We do not include a conventional land-line number on our stationery or web-site because we do not have conventional offices and are frequently out and about meeting with clients or business contacts. Those locations can be pretty varied. That is why we have extended our existing methods to the use of Web 2.0 which among many other things also means that Skype can be used more extensively.
Web 2.0 makes it even easier for clients to communicate, collaborate and share information with us online. They are actually able to check their own password protected folders/files at any time. The usual means of communication remain but with the addition of a ‘chat’ line or Skype/webcam facilities.
We are happy to visit clients personally at their place of business when possible or necessary. Conversely, we are equally content to meet at a venue of the client’s choice.
We have found that clients appreciate this way of working. It impinges less on their time because there is no need for them to travel to visit us in offices. We work for their convenience, not the other way round as is so often the case with conventional professional advisors. It all equates to speed, efficiency and added value not least because these methods of working considerably reduce overheads - as reflected favourably in our fees.
